July
2007
The
next weekend in July took us to Belvidere, IL for the Vizsla
Club of Illinois Specialty. Although Star and Hunter both showed
wonderfully, it was the puppy bitch, Whosper, that I got to
show that shined the most. Whisper took Reserve Winner's Bitch
at the Specialty and then took a 4-point majot at the Supported
Entry under George Heitman at just barely 8 months old. Whisper
is owned by Kathy Wessels and is pleasant to show.
We
started out July with a trek to Monroe, MI for the Vizsla Club
of Michigan Specialty. Star took Best of Opposite Sex at the
supported entry.
June
2007
On
the first day of the Cambridge Cluster, Mikki took Winner's
Bitch for anotehr point. Watch for this up and comer!
The
second Twin Cities Vizsla Club was in Jordan in June. A new
show site and indoor Specialty, which didn't seem to affect
the dogs. Star, under the guiding hand of Eva Phillippi took
Best of Opposite at the Specialty and Sydney after winning an
Open class of 11 took Reserve Winner's Bitch.
Saturday
of Lake Minnetonka weekend in Jordan was even better for Sydney
as she took a 5-point major under Judge Carl Leipman! Way to
go Sydney.
May
2007
The
end of June was the first Twin Cities Vizsla Club Specialty
in St. Peter. Sydney went Reserve Winner's Bitch at the Specialty
and everyone showed great!
Staying
close to home with a show in Eagan, MN, both boys Tigger and
Hunter excelled, each taking Winner's dog one day and Hunter
taking Best of Winner's also. Sydney came close on Sunday with
a Reserve Winner's Bitch on Sunday.
We
headed to Jefferson County, WI, a new show site for this show,
but still successful for the Cruiser's clan. We started out
Friday with a 3-point Major for Mikki, Cruiser's Rusty Red Mikki,
a Radar daughter. Mikki has been growing up over the last year.
Friday was also Timber and Patti's first shot at Rally and first
Novice pass.
Saturday
was a good showing for us in the ring, but an ever better showing
in Rally. Both Timber and Gunnar pass in Rally Novice, Timber
with a 96 and Gunnar with a 92. Very impressive for both!
Sunday,
Timber finished her RN title to become Keystone Copper Timber
RN. Her and Patti's first AKC title, Congrats girls. We had
a wonderful time in a very competitive breed ring and look forward
to the shows coming up.
April
2007
At
the TCVC Hunt Test we had two successful days. Major passed
both days for his third and fourth Junior legs and earned his
Junior Hunter title. This is Radar's first JH get.
Earning
his first and second legs were Hunter. Although he was handler
challenged with me, he had great training prior with Brian and
of course Mason. These were also earned at the April 28 &
29th Hunt Test.
April
1st in Eau Claire, WI, Hunter was awarded WD and BW from Dr.
Alvin Krause. Star was BOS with Eva Phillippi at the other end
of the lead. Thank you Eva!
Welcome
to Spring...
We've had a very quiet winter
so far, staying home to work on the house, work on training,
and plan for the spring and summer.
We did hit a few highs in the
first few months of the year:
-Hunter earned a few more points toward his Championship
-Star took an Award of Merit at the Gateway Vizsla Club Specialty
in St. Louis. Thank you Dave for handling my girl to such a
wonderful accomplishment
-Ginger, Gunnar's sister earned her Championship, this makes
Trisha a Registry of Merit (ROM) dog for the Vizsla Club of
America.
Congrats Trisha!
Well, here it is 2007 already
and I haven't updated this since July...
Here's a quick update of the
remainder of 2006.
Millie finished her Championship
on September 11, 2006 in Des Moines and won her first Best of
Breed as a special in November in Hutchinson, MN.
Hunter went to the VCA Nationals
and finished 2nd in the Bred By Exhibitior class of almost 20
boys. We are very proud of what the future holds for him.
Sydney earns a major and goes
Best of Breed in Hutchinson for her first points. Way to go
Sydney!
Csonka finishes his Championship
in December at the IL Christmas Cluster to make his mother a
Top Producer! The same day he also earns a 96 in his first Rally
Novice entry. Jill put both of these on a very deserving boy.
Trisha is a VCA 2006 Top Producer
as Holly, Millie and Csonka all finished their Championships
this year. These three are also all littermates out of BIS BISS
CH Jnek's King Ralph JH. These three littermates earned 10 majors
between the three of them this year.
In August Radar earned his Rally
Novice title, a great accomplishment for a boy who has yet to
take an obedience class. Watch for him to hit the obedience
ring next year.
July 2006
Look
out Belvidere, Star and Hunter are on their way for the VCOI
Specialty!
Vermillion,
SD is now one of our favorite show sites. On Saturday under
breeder judge Kathy Rust, Star went Best of Breed, Hunter went
Winner's Dog and Best of Winner's for a major and his first
points. On Sunday Hunter again was Winner's Dog and Millie was
Winner's Bitch and Best of Winner's for her fourth major. She
is now just a point shy of earning her Championship.
June 2006
Next
we headed to Iowa City. On Saturday Mikki went Reserve Winner's
Bitch to a major, a great accomplishment for such a young girl.
On Sunday, Clay was Winner's Dog and Best of Winner's for his
second major and Championship. Millie was Winner's Bitch for
her third major.
Clay
is now Radar's first Champion and second AKC titled get. Clay
joins sister Missy with a title. Way to go you two!
The
second TCVC Specialty was in Waconia. Here we had some wonderful
showings by our dogs.
The
first of June took us to Fargo, ND. Everyone showed great and
on Sunday Holly went Best of Opposite as a move-up.
May 2006
The
TCVC Specialty in St. Peter over Memorial weekend was a very
successful Specialty for the Cruiser's clan. From the Am Bred
Holly won Winner's Bitch. In breed, Star, handled by Sandy Slattum
was awarded Best of Opposite Sex. Everyone else showed wonderfully
and we had a superb day. Earlier in the day Radar earned his
first Rally leg, the first time he has been entered in Rally.
Saturday
brought just as much success in St. Peter. Holly, handled by
Eva Phillippi again took Winner's Bitch and Best of Winner's
to finish her Championship. This was her third major and she
finished the way she started, on top. She finished undefeated
in the class she was entered in. Star again was a shining Star
earning Best of Opposite Sex from over 10 Specials, 8 of them
females. Special thanks to Suzanne for stepping both days to
help in the breed ring.
We
are looking forward to the TCVC Specialty in St. Peter over
Memorial weekend. A lot of the Cruiser's litters will be represented
there, including first timers, Hunter, Mikki, and Missy.
At
the Madison, WI show weekend, Millie came away with a 4-point
major on Friday with Winner's Bitch. Holly, her sister, was
Reserve Winner's Bitch. Their father, Ralph was not only Best
Veteran in Vizslas, but took a Veteran Group 1 to close out
a wonderful day.
Green
Bay was a great place for us to show. We got to play at Belinda's,
and see Csonka earn his second major. He and Belinda looked
great.
April 2006
The
following weekend in DeWitt, IA, Holly was a superstar again
taking Winner's Bitch both days for another 4 points total.
This girl is a wonder in the ring and is undefeated in the classes
so far.
Starting
out her show career, Holly did it with a bang, earning a 3-point
major her first show out in Dubuque, IA. Clay was winner's dog,
but missed the major with Holly taking Best of Winner's. On
Sunday, Star was Best of Breed, with Clay taking Winner's Dog
and Best of Winner's for the major! A big thank you to Eva Phillippi
for stepping in for Brad who came down with chicken pox.
February
2006
Missy earned her
first Title Canine Good Citizen at the Twin Cities Obedience
training Center of February 13, 2006.
January
2006
We started the new year off right with
majors on two dogs. Csonka took WD/BOW at the Des Moines, IA
show January 21st for a 3-point major and then his sister Millie
took a 3-point major on January 22nd with WB/BOW. Star was BOS
both days and looked wonderful!
A
big Congratulations is sent out to daddy Ralph on his Award
of Merit at the Eukanuba Classic. All of your kids here at Cruiser's
Vizsla's are proud of you!
