What's New 2004

December 2004

With the holidays in the air, we only attended one show this month in St. Cloud, MN.  Star earned her first AKC points under judge Betty Duding.  This was on Saturday, December 11th, she was also awarded Best of Opposite Sex to her Uncle Radar.

November 2004

What a great experience we had at the VCA Nationals.  Everyone looked great, acted great and gained valuable experience.  The highlight of the weekend was Star winning her 6-9 month Sweepstakes class.  A very special thank you to Jessica Vetter for taking her in so I could take Liz in.

On Saturday, November 6, Gunnar was awarded Winner's Dog by judge Mr. Dana Cline. This made him a new Champion! He is now CH Kiss Me Quick, Gunnar Go. We couldn't be more thrilled for the him as it has been a roller coaster ride to get him here.

Also on Saturday, Liz was awarded Reserve Winner's Bitch. For their second time out, all of the puppies looked terrific. Now on to Fort Worth! Mommy had to show Radar on Saturday, but he earned Best of Opposite Sex. On Sunday with Dave on the lead, he earned Best of Breed under Mr. Eugene Blake.

The Vizsla Club of America is holding the 2004 Vizsla Nationals from November 9th to the 19th in Ft. Worth and Sulphur Springs, TX. Shooting Star is pleased to be able to bring down a group of Cruiser's dog for the Sweepstakes and Conformation events. CH Trisha Cruiser's Radar will be competing in Best of Breed, his nieces and nephew Cruiser's Notjusta Prty Face (Star), Queen Elizabeth's Cruiser (Liz) and Cruiser's King Riddick (Riddick) will be entered in 6-9 month sweepstakes, 6-9 month dog and bitch and bred-by-exhibitor classes. Tagging along for the ride with Jill and Suzanne will be Missy, Cruiser's Shooting Star Artemis. A daughter from Radar's first litter.

Right now we are still working on getting mom's Trisha and Bell to also join us down south. Whether or not they are able to join us, we are promised to have a great time in Texas with our upcoming dogs and Radar. Plus, it will be great to see old friends again and make new ones. Last year in Charlotte was a learning experience, we hope to make this year in Ft. Worth an unforgettable time. We'll be seeing y'all ya hear!

October 2004

On their first day possible to show, 6-months-old, Star, Liz and Riddick made their ring debuts in Sioux Falls, SD on Sunday, October 24th. Each of them won their respective classes and received many compliments from Judge Patricia Trotter about being happy, and well trained. Mother Bell was also there and won her class. Riddick was awarded Reserve Winner's dog which was a thrill. Liz was awarded Winner's Bitch, which was a super feeling for the day, but then to top it off, she went into breed and moved so flawlessly that Mrs. Trotter awarded her Best of Breed, this gave her a 5-point major going over a 2x BIS winner, a Specialty winner, and 2 other specials, including Uncle Radar. Radar was awarded Best of Opposite. This was a great start for all of these young dogs.

Radar took Best of Breed on Saturday, October 2nd & 3rd at the Wright County Kennel Club show in Hutchinson, MN. Bell received another point on Sunday by going Winner's Bitch.

Gunnar earned Best of Winner's and Winner's Dog on Sunday, October 10th in Mason City, IA. He is now just one point away from his Championship.

Radar competed on the Gold Cup Challenge at the International Dog Show in Hutchinson, MN on Saturday, October 16th and was awarded the Reserve Best in Show.  He also was Best of Breed on Saturday and Sunday, October 16th & 17th.

Star, as a 5-month old, became an International Champion!  She was awarded Best Puppy and Best Bred-By Puppy on Sunday, October 17th and received a Sporting Group 2 for Best Bred-By Puppy.  Star is now the youngest Cruiser's Champion and the first Champion for her mother, Bell.

Also congrats to Tosca Lonnie Purple, Bred, Owned and Handled by Judy Davidson, and Rose, Stormy and Star the weim, owned by Rhonda Grimm, on their placements and also becoming International Champions.  It was a good weekend for all.

September 2004

Radar took Best of Breed both days in Rochester, MN on September 11th and 12th with his sister Bell taking Best of Opposite both days also.  He made the cut in the Group on Saturday and got a good look on Sunday.

In Thunder Bay, ON Canada, Radar earned two Group placements and 5 points toward his Canadian Championship on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 17 – 19.

Winnie and Radar’s puppies will be ready to go home to their forever families at the end of the month.
